Cotopaxi RE-3 Reviews

Cotopaxi is an extremely small school with 250 kids and staff from Preschool to 12th grade. Everybody knows everybody. While most people think that is a bad thing, it honestly hasn't been. Sure the occasional break up or best friend fight can off set the balance, but in about a week routines go back as it should be. We are a very strong loving community that has the Rocky Mountains and the Arkansas River in our backyard. It is true smaller schools have less chances to branch out into bigger educational fields, and it would be prosperous to get those opportunities. However in the six years I have been attending, there has been drastic change to get that, especially in our science field. We have gotten extraordinary chances to go to the Air Force Academy, NASA Learning Centers, leadership camps, sports camps, other field trips and college courses are being offered more. We as a tiny but mighty school has grown and developed a lot and there is still a lot of growth!

For gifted and advanced children this is not a good school. When i first transferred there i was in AP classes, the administration would not allow me to continu them online. The school is overly religious and children who are not will be severely bullied, not many options for friends because of small size. Teachers are very caring and compassionate but curriculum is very limited. The school only offers 4 sports. The food is mediocre at best. There is no racial diversity whatsoever.
In the small town of Cotopaxi, you will find only a store, a liquor store and a post office, but you will find a wonderful school. When you come to school, there is not one person that does not say hello to you, and it is not just another person everyone become family. We have about 200 people from Pre-K - Highschool, yes we are small but we are mighty. I couldn't have gone to a better school than this.
