Corpus Christi Independent School District Reviews
CCISD gave me the best years as a student. I attended many schools of fine arts which really helped develop my mind as a child. I remember everyone being involved and connected, there were always after school events of fundraisers and might I say I was very competitive when it came to those year round candle sells. The diversity was there but I would have appreciated to see a lot more, Corpus is just small and lacks diversity within itself so what can you do? Furthermore, the academics were outstanding and the teachers really do implement themselves into your lives. They allow you to learn at your own pace and never made you feel bad about it. Overall an amazing school district and I can't wait to have my children attend one day!
Over all, my experience with CCISD has been relatively exceptional. The academics are very advanced, as are the facilities and resources that are available to students. However, one thing that I would change would be the administration. Specifically in high school, I feel that the administrator's have other agendas then listening and paying attention to the needs and concerns of the students. I have brought my concerns, which apply to many students in my school, to administrators and have been turned away time and time again. I think this is something that most definitely needs to be reformed!
I am grateful for the wide variety of academic options that my school district provided. I was able to join the IB program and really challenge myself in both school and extracurricular activities, preparing me for the rigor and busy schedule I will encounter during college. Moreover, I really love how my school district congratulates all students for different achievements, such as in sports, music, academics, etc. One thing I would like to change is the learning resources available for each school in the district. For instance, only some math classes will have scientific calculators while others don't. By ensuring that all students have access to educational resources, I believe that the students' education can significantly improve. Overall, I have learned so much and obtained so many skills required for succeeding in the future throughout my years enrolled in Corpus Christi ISD.
