I think that I have grown up in very privileged schools. We do have a lot of extra career ready classes that I've gotten to take advantage of. The sports teams are very well equipped and they are really good. I do think that we could improve in places. Not everything is perfect! Clubs could be better and parent involvement could be better. I think we are a very diverse school but it seems that most kids have their own groups. If we were more involved with each other and more of a community then the school would be more inviting. My goal when going to college is to find a school that builds relationships with each other and is a community. Overall I have had a pleasant experience.
I subbed at Conway Public Schools for about 2 years in most of the schools elementary through high school. They seem to have a lot of funding and offer a lot of different opportunities for students in terms of education. However, from my experience of subbing there, they seem to have very snobbish and immature staff especially in elementary buildings. Most staff will not talk to you or welcome you. Schools have certain picks on who they want to sub and will lie on what you did so they will only have their cliques to sub. It seemed like a very unprofessional atmosphere behind closed doors. Based on how I was treated, it makes me wonder how the students are treated. I am now a teacher myself and would never treat subs this way. They seem to have a lot of funding and resources for students but if they are identified as special education or gifted and talented. Those students that fall in between don’t get the recognition or support.
We have had nothing but great experiences with Conway’s school district. They have been accommodating with my son’s dyslexia, they have given my oldest son exactly what he needs to succeed academically, and the band program ROCKS! The leaders of these schools are involved and engaged and want their students to succeed.
