I attend the southern building of District 99, and the thing I'm most proud of about my school is the welcoming environment. As a freshman, I've experienced nothing but kindness and understanding. The upperclassmen were more than happy to assist me whenever I needed some extra guidance. I, personally, have never experienced nor even witnessed bullying and my classes are filled with the utmost respectful of students. Something I hope does change in the future is the food. The lunch options are disgusting. They bear minimal resemblance to the food which they claim to be. Equally repugnant is the aroma. Every so often, the smell will become particularly strong, and the stench will linger throughout the lunchroom. Secondarily, the clubs; although there is a wide variety of them, few seem to have a significant purpose. Many are student run, and the things accomplished are kept to a minimum. Other than that, this truly is a great school.

I am a senior at Downers Grove North High School and I have to say that I truly enjoyed all 4 years that I spent going there. I was not to involved with my school, starting Junior year the only thing I was involved in was Student Council. That doesn't mean I didn't go to all the dances, all the football games(I went to the away one more so during senior year), all the home basketball games, and whatever else I could make it to. My friends and I really appreciated what our school had to offer and wanted to take advantage of every opportunity. By going to all these things it really brought out the best of my high school experience and the fact that my school was able to provide all these things is truly amazing and I am very grateful for that. North brings out the best in everyone and inspires students to be their true and individual selves without worrying about judgement from peers.
A great experience! At both Downers Grove North and Downers Grove South, there are opportunities for your child to bloom. Whether through academics, athletics, or extracurriculars, Downers Grove is a great place to learn.
