Libertyville Highschool is an amazing school to learn at and an environment to learn at. There are many amazing teachers that are very passionate about teaching and helping you no matter what, even if they have to stay a little longer. There are various courses you can take ranging from philosophy and film to jewelry making. At Libertyville Highschool there is also a long list of clubs that are available for all students to join such as the Cr-8 which is the engineering club at the school or the cosmetic club. In addition, it has energizing traditions such as having pep rallies before the dances and wearing kid backpacks when you are a senior.
As an introvert, I really liked Zoom school. I know it’s a controversial thing to admit, but I really loved going to school on Zoom. I thought my school district handled Zoom school well. We had 4 period days (instead of our usual 8 period days) and Wednesday’s were teachers choice days (our teachers decided if we wanted to meet synchronously or asynchronously— most teachers decided asynchronous!). Everyone had the same lunch period and it was over an hour long, which was just amazing because it gave us some time to relax, stretch, and energize to finish the rest of the school day of strong! As much as I loved e-learning, I’m actually very excited to go back to school in person this year (senior year!) and get to see my friends and teachers! Even though we weren’t in school for over a year, our school still managed to finish the 20-21 school year strong! I’m proud to be part of VHHS. Go Cougars!!
This school is a follower not a leader. Poor communication, poor decisions that make it better for teachers and principals but worse for students, poor response to coronavirus. Used to be a top district but teaching and student caring have deteriorated. Other schools in the area have better addressed the virus without hurting students and education.
