There are many changes each year considering student life and rules. Some rules are a little over the top and the school administration doesn't have any power over whether they have to strictly enforce the rules or not. The school I attend is usually dirty due to low custodial staff. My school is only made up of almost 300 students and about 80 staff members, which I very much like. The district does very well establishing when to run emergency drills and informs the staff well on what to do in a certain situation. i feel safe at my school and enjoy the happy atmosphere my teachers and administration create.
I like the culture, though it could be better. There are low bullying rates, which is good. The safety and administration could be better. Comal ISD is committed to having the highest test scores, and insures students get proper tutoring hours, practice work, and study time. There is major participation in fine arts, sports, and other extra-curricular activities. Overall, the rating of the school in Comal ISD would a 6 out of 10.
Overall I felt most encouraged by the Volleyball Coach Mrs. Patton. “I consider you my kids and we are raising them together.” Coach Patton made a difference in me always expecting the best out of us and teaching us how to do the same for ourselves. As with any school there are politics and I refuse to concede or get wrapped up in the whirlwind of it all. Anchored on the leaders amongst the staff and great friendships developed as we shared life together. The elementary Bill Brown was named after my grandpa’s oldest brother so that was close to my heart. Their are several opportunities for the administration to better mesh and genuinely care about the students ultimately supporting better rapport and trust however the key teachers, you know who you are, made it all worth it. Teacher’s have a lifetime impact and it is up to them what that impact will be… positive or negative.
