Colchester School District Reviews
We moved here in 2011 so that our children could attend the Colchester school district. We have loved the culture, community related activities and the 5 separate schools acting as a unified district. I have a freshman, junior and a senior. All 3 of them are happy and love this school district!
Colchester High School has very nice people, everyone can come together when needed and get along very well. I really like the faculty and staff at Colchester, they are all super nice and very good about getting you help if you ask for it. This school is the only school that has ever made me want to take a gym class, they have all these amazing things on campus, such as, the ropes course, hiking trails for orienteering, Mallets Bay is Right through the woods and they have a paddle sports unit. They have so many cool science electives as well, like, forensics, anatomy, environmental science, science of survival, and many more. The only thing that I personally don't like is the schedules and lunch times. It is a two day schedule, A day and B day, and basically they split up your eight classes over those two days. You have 5 mods (periods) a day, the second one being AT, Academic Time, where you can sign up for time with certain teachers you need help with.
Caring students, teachers, administrators and families. Improved athletic facilities would be great, but the coaches are very supportive and instructive. The new theater and science labs are beautiful. The lack of permanent theatrical director is a shame as there are many students that are very talented and interested in performing.
