There are a lot of good things about Clear Brook High School. For students who want to excel in any are, there are plenty of opportunities for them to do so. There's a variety of advanced and AP classes offered, a variety of sports, a great audio/visual program (which I happen to be a part of), a legendary robotics program, and, of course, what seems like a million different clubs. The sheer amount of choices that a student has at this school can be overwhelming at first, but once I learned to navigate them, the independence and growth that it brought me is something that I wouldn't trade for anything. This is especially helped by the school's great community - there's a diverse array of students, so anyone can fit in, and most of the teachers are supportive and truly care about their jobs. Overall, I had a pretty great experience at Brook. Keep up the great work! Go Wolverines!
Clear Lake High School is a four-star school with many opportunities for everyone, except for any student that may come from outside the country. The credit validation system is genuinely abysmal, CCISD designed a system that actively hinders foreign students' development. As per CCISD policy, none of my previous high school credits or accomplishments were transferred, so Clear Lake views me as a student with zero credits. I am meant to be a senior, but due to having no credits, I’ve been assigned as a freshman in all school systems, having no real academic record, I have no GPA or class rank. I have also had to complete extra AP and dual credit classes, in addition to "credit by exam" exams, in an effort to rack up the 22 credits needed for graduation in just one year. Lake’s a great school, and I really do love some of my classes, but if you’re coming from a foreign country, the best thing you can do for your family’s academics is to steer clear of CCISD.
Clear Creek Independent School District is a very large school body with numerous high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools. My experiences can hardly apply to every single school, administrator, and teacher however I have spent my entire education thus far in this district so I do have some experience. Many factors vary on the high school that you will be attending however the district offers vary little academic opportunity and it has little regard to help teach students about college systems and opportunities. It is an average district but has many schools in different areas that can all provide a completely different atmosphere.
