Clarkston Community School District Reviews
Clarkston Schools offers a challenging k-12 academic curriculum with limitless learning opportunities (AP, IB, early college/dual enrollment, CTE, STEM), state championship athletic teams, Broadway-caliber theater and musical programs and more! The district also has made considerable investments in the social, emotional, and physical well-being of each child. I love that Clarkston kids can create a story of learning that leads to personal fulfillment, meaningful relationships, and positive contributions starting RIGHT HERE in their neighborhood public schools!
I like majority of the teachers as they were helpful and gave opportunities to students to better themselves (like having before/after school sessions to ask questions/help). While there were a variety of clubs, their information isn't readily available and you often wouldn’t know they exist unless you took certain classes so I wish there was a method to find out about them more easily. The school lunch was mostly just the usual bland pizza, taco, and the like but they had a salad bar in addition to it so you can be healthy if you want. There isn't a lot of diversity but that's because of what community the school is in, not because of the school itself. There were a lot of AP and IB courses offered so it allowed the students to be college ready by taking college leveled courses. Overall, there were both ups and downs so my experience here was average.
Clarkston Community Schools has been a great education system to be a part of, all teachers and staff have been friendly, helpful, and inspiring. Great place to grow up but one downside is its lack of diversity. Great for those involved in sports!
