Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation Reviews

Clark Pleasant does very well as a corporation academically but they lack in other areas. One area they lack in is the school sizes themselves. For example, we have outgrown the high school but instead we have decided to build a new elementary school. I also believe that our school calendar is inefficient. We are on a balance calendar which means we only have 6 weeks of summer. Other schools in our area don't use this calendar and it can be a conflict when it comes to scheduling things and having the proper amount of break for kids.
My experience has been mixed. My daughter excels, but my son does not and, they will not accommodate him. Even with drs notes. He has a problem with electronics and misuse. Because most classes are done on chrome books. So, he is failing. Was even told by one teacher. When he fails math next year. He won’t graduate. And we will offer an alternative School. Then furthermore after that I was suggested I send him to a different school district entirely.
I am a parent and graduate of Clark-Pleasant Community School Corp. They are wonderful! Many competent and dedicated people work there. I could not be happier.
Went to this school district for my entire life, and really my only complaints are teachers that don't really seem like they care to teach which makes school a dread for students, more than it can already be, and poor focuses from heads of the schools.
Clark-pleasant is growing progressive school system that focuses on growth and success of each kid. My kids thrive and with their system of feedback to students and parents I k ow exactly their strengths and weaknesses. Many opportunities available for STEM education too.
One bad experience after another. Bus drivers are allowed to bully and harass students along with other students. They have a 0 policy for bullying but nothing is ever done about it unless the child defends himself and then he's in trouble. They went as far as overlooking a student that attempted to murder my grandson. If I could afford to I would move out of this school district to keep my grandchildren safe.
Down to earth staffing and an overall willingness to work with students. The staff was what made the entirety of the district worth the 5 stars with their diligence and drive to push students further.
In general, the school system has it's few strong points and also it's fair share of flaws. I don't believe that the high school and middle school in particular prepare you for anything that you'll need. I feel like there are a few staff members that genuinely care about the students and their success but other than that it's rare to see a genuine excitement for education. The one plus side I can say I experienced when I was a student there was some of the senior privileges, which by now have probably got taken away.
I attended Clark Pleasant schools for all of my K-12 schooling, and had a good experience with great teachers who care about your education.
