My overall experience at Chico High School was great due to supportive teachers, an amazing principal, and a tight knit student body. Unfortunately due to budget cuts, the number of teachers have dropped thus reducing the number of classes available.
Chico is your normal small town but we have a very bad drug problem. Today a kid got arrested for possession on Campus. It's the second time this year ( that I know of) that this has happened. On the flip side, my school has a very good Theater Arts program that I particulate in currently. I really would like to change the budget for theater classes and plays. This year we had a $300 dollar budget and used all the money to sell popcorn so we could make more money to use for props. Chico high school also has a really bad bullying problem that I wish we could change but nothing really seems to work.
I like the small school setting because you know your teachers and they know you. However, being at a small school also doesn't give many options for electives or organizations. You have to be involved in everything otherwise sports and clubs wouldn't exist.
