For a public school district, the Cherry Hill School District experience is better than one might expect. I stayed in the district from early childhood education all the way to high school, and now I attend a private four-year university. Better funding can improve the infrastructure of the schools, but the teachers are dedicated. My guidance counselor at Cherry Hill High School West stands out, as she was the sole person who helped me apply to colleges. I did feel on my own at time, but there are good people within the district who care about their students. Also, even though the arts and music program received less and less funding every year and relied heavily on parent/family donations, I had great times in the program.
The Cherry Hill school district does provide a great education for any student that goes there. Almost all the teachers I have had are there to make sure your child is learning and succeeding in school. They are not just teachers but a guide to the student's life always making sure the students feel welcome and are ok mentally and physically. That being said the district definitely needs to work on rebuilding the schools as they are very old and starting to get uncomfortable to attend. Whether it is the air condition/ heating or the broken desks and old rooms. A better environment will lead to a more productive student.
Overall good experience. Some amazing teachers, some just okay. Definitely need to be proactive to get all the resources Cherry Hill provides. Overall though, a good public school education.
