Cherry Creek School District Reviews
The academics at creek provide a really great range of opportunities and interests for students to get involved in. Especially with the new career and technical building, the district is able to cater towards students who learn hands on and need to prepare for the work force. There is unfortunately an incredibly great difference between the wealthy and poorer schools in the district. As a student at cherry creek high school, our school lacks diversity and is way too big. Especially for those interested in ivy leagues, creek’s ranking system is skewed and almost everyone at the school is overachieving and spoiled. There is also a great amount of anti-Semitic hate going around creek more recently.
I loved how much it prepared me for my future. I had amazing experiences with my teachers. While I felt ready for college, there is an enormous amount of pressure put on the students to succeed. My school had about 4,000 students so it was highly competitive. The larger issue, however, was administration. We had a few student suicides and their reaction was to create a shortened schedule to allow a period to talk about mental health. While this seems like a helpful idea, it was very clearly to please parents and not aimed towards the students.
Throughout my career as a student within the Cherry Creek School District I didn't receive the best grades but I always loved to learn! Every year from elementary school to senior year I had teachers that engaged me and sparked a desire to understand what they were teaching. High school gave me the structure I needed to grow as young man and learn from my experiences. My peers have become a second family and I have grown to enjoy each and every one of them for their unique individual characteristics. Every sports and school hosted event I went to was a blast and they created memories that will stick with me for many years. Administration and the rules that they enforced at school were all fair and within reason, as long as you didn't do anything questionable you were left alone and that's the way it has to be. The Cherry Creek School District gave me the classic schooling experience and has laid the foundation for my success in the future!
