I had an overall good experience while at Chenango Valley Central School District. I attended this school all my years from pre-k to my senior year of high school. The academics were great, the teachers cared about their students so much, the music and arts programs we're pretty awesome and overall the school spirit was amazing!
The teacher to student ratio is about 1:20 in most classrooms, and the teachers are extremely attentive and adeptly explain things when asked. The school has amazing athletic facilities, coaches, and trainers. The only issue is that many of the bathrooms are often locked to prevent skipping classes, but this makes it difficult to find one that is usable for that day.
The special education department is great and willing to help me with all of my learning disabilities that I face. The music and art departments are thriving with the amount of participants are are continuously getting recognized for their great success. The athletics at Chenango Valley need help The girls varsity swim team has been Section 4 Class B champions for 2 years consecutively now, and not have been recognized at all. While the football team on the other hand has lost for multiple years in a row and they get recognized for loosing. The planning of events of the administration part of the school is lacking. They do not seam to realized you an not schedule a high school music concert on the same night and the same time as a swim meet and a basketball game. So they are making you choose what one you go to. If you skip the band concert you have a zero for your grade but if you skip the sporting event your coach gets made and will not let you participate in the next competition.
