Chenango Valley Central School District Reviews
The special education department is great and willing to help me with all of my learning disabilities that I face. The music and art departments are thriving with the amount of participants are are continuously getting recognized for their great success. The athletics at Chenango Valley need help The girls varsity swim team has been Section 4 Class B champions for 2 years consecutively now, and not have been recognized at all. While the football team on the other hand has lost for multiple years in a row and they get recognized for loosing. The planning of events of the administration part of the school is lacking. They do not seam to realized you an not schedule a high school music concert on the same night and the same time as a swim meet and a basketball game. So they are making you choose what one you go to. If you skip the band concert you have a zero for your grade but if you skip the sporting event your coach gets made and will not let you participate in the next competition.
My experience at Chenango Valley couldn't have been better. I started out in a pre-k program and it turns out that alot of the kids I started out with I am now graduating with. The teachers and the guidance counselors knew exactly what they were doing and helped out any way they could when seeing a student struggling or not quite sure what they had planned for their future. I had no idea on a good college for my career and my guidance counselor was able to point me in the right direction and gave me a list of colleges to go check out. Also I felt safe while in school. With all the school shootings you hear about, they took the action had police officers campusing our school grounds making sure all the students were safe and could get around the school without worrying.
Overall, my experience at Chenango Valley was good. Most of the students there have grown up going to school there, so multiple close friendships have been created due to this. The major of the staff here are always willing to help students whether it be with school work or personal issues. The staff members care about their jobs and appear to enjoy their job. Since the school is on the smaller side almost everyone knows each other.
