I would say that the Cheltenham School District focuses more on diversity than it does on academics, granted it is much better compared to other school districts in greater Philadelphia. Because it is such an old building, it is constantly falling apart. Leaky walls, mice running around. Administration also needs to do more to prepare high school students for their college careers and overall offer more support to students. . They also need to find a more efficient way to handle and lessen behavioral problems. It has gotten to the point where it has become a threat to other students lives. Just consequences should be served. I will say overall, that the school's diversity is definitely a plus. The school is very inclusive and strives to be politically correct, for the most part. They also have spectacular french fries! I truly do recommend.
There are many teachers who work hard to get to know the students on a more personal level. Many of these teachers reach out to students with opportunities like internships, volunteer work, and scholarships because they remember the students' interests. There were times that felt like minimal communication between the district and the students as well as some staff.
Wonderful for both daughters, despite the elitist overtones at times.
More positive school culture
More welcoming to all diversity!
Let’s just be Mount Airy in the burbs
