I have grown up in Savannah, GA my whole life. I’ve enjoyed going to all of the schools I’ve attended. I’ve never been to a facility that was horrendous, but there should be changes made. Our facilities should have more STEM related activities since they want to focus on the STEM aspect of everything. The teachers try and involve STEM, but there’s only so much you can do with limited resources. However, the teachers (at Jenkins High School) have been very successful with preparing students for college. Occasionally, with the amount of homework and studying I have, I feel like I’m already in college. Our teachers are very helpful and [seem] like they care about their students. With acedemics, I do feel like different subjects could be taught with a more hands on way rather than a paper-pencil way. Overall, Chatham County is doing the best they can with the money they have. I will forever appreciate this school system.

What's good about Chatham County schools is that there is diversity with the programs at each school. However, they could to be better if the students were better. Half the teachers care a lot and the other half don't care at all. The bus rides were bad because many schools had to share. I hate that my school had some of the best students but one of the worst buildings. I hate that a school with terrible students has a nice building. I hate that the kids don't receive enough disciple or enough care. The diversity in programs is great but they would be better if students and teachers cared more.
While attending school within the Chatham County school district, at Savannah Arts Academy, I was met with a wide range of talent as well as diversity in my school day. While the students and staff were welcoming, the food served in the cafeteria was sub-par, and as our school is located downtown, staying safe and mindful of the environment was important. I thoroughly have enjoyed my time so far at SAA, however changes could definitely be made to ensure a safe, healthy environment for students and staff.
