My overall experience at CO, has been a whirlwind of ups and downs. With the International Baccalaureate program, it is very doable, but would be more manageable if the district hired teachers that were qualified for their positions. On the same note as teachers, some have crossed the line of strict and understandable, to just plain rude. Unnecessary comments and inexcusable behavior has made some classes uncomfortable. However, the district members are a completely different story, but to make a long story short: they are a BIG mess of adults. I'm not too sure why I feel more mature than some of the adults who run our district. However, the arts program and athletic programs do counteract the academics here. I've built a strong relationship with quite a few teachers on this campus.

Throughout my time attending Charter Oak High School, my personal growth has significantly grown. I learned to step outside of my comfort zone, attempting to achieve things that I once thought was impossible. I became an International Baccalaureate student, a leader in Advanced Chorale Ensemble, and the lead in my senior year's Spring musical, West Side Story. The community of Charter Oak has shaped me into the young woman that I am today. I am currently attending the University of La Verne, and throughout my freshman year of college, I have achieved so much in such little time. I have Charter Oak to thank for my achievements and successes.
My experience with the Charter Oak Unified School District has overall been a very good experience. The school is very diverse and provides various opportunities for students to get involved with not only the school, but the community as well. They take careful consideration towards the academics of students and make it a priority to provide as many academic opportunities as possible; for example, the IB Program. One thing I would like to see change is the lack of technological advancements towards the school.
