I am a student at Carteret community college. This is a very good school. The staff is very helpful, the teachers are great. They really strive for your success and advocate for your education. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to go here. I currently attend here on a grant and i have been searching for extra money to help me in my education to pay for a laptop and other expenses because I am homeless. I have a 3.7 GPA though, and they help as much as they can for me to succeed.

I have had excellent experiences at every level of schooling with Carteret County Schools. Now in my Junior year of high school, I feel that my education has been and continues to be academically rigorous and socially satisfying. There are numerous opportunities to become involved outside of academics that enhance my overall experience. I know that I am ready for a successful college experience and career because of my foundation with Carteret County Schools.
Great schools but need more class choices/options in high school and everyone should be told about all options instead of being categorized into college bound or career/technical. There is too much busy work to try to make the classes hard. NC school system is too focused on test scores instead of teaching the students how to think critically and enjoy the learning process.
