I like having the chance to go to the Career and Tech Center because it allows me to have hands on learning on a major before going to college. It helps me decide if that is what I want to do in college.
The school system is amazing. It has great teachers, classes, students, campuses, buildings, and extracurricular. My favorite thing about the school system is the Carroll County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC). I attended CCCTC for one semester during my senior year and, despite Covid-19, the experience was wonderful. The teachers there are great and really know what they are talking about. Being able to gain a hand-on experience in a specific field to prepare you for a possible career is an invaluable opportunity.
I liked how everyone knew each other in the town. It was very connected. All of the teams were good and the overall community of each school was pleasant.
They are always looking out for your best interest and they have some amazing programs and teachers.
Great district with a wide range of classes. There are lots of AP classes to chooses from and they have a local Career and technology center to build hands on experiences. Furthermore, students have the choice to become dually enrolled at the local community college.
Carroll County Public Schools lacks diversity and while you may experience adversity as a minority, they school system seems to be working on it. CCPS did a good job of preparing me for my future.
I am a senior currently attending Westminster High School. During my time at Westminster, I have had numerous opportunities to be active within my school. Activities ranging from sports and a wide variety of clubs to National Honor Societies. While I overall enjoyed my experience at my high school itself, the opportunity to become a student at the Carroll County Tech Center has been the best method in preparing me for college. A hands-on program for career preparation made for Carroll County Public Schools students.
i enjoyed my time at the school, the staff and teachers were great. my school nurse ms. Runk was awesome, very caring and loving. school was safe and kids are nice
My experience with CCPS was good, but not as good as it could've been. Throughout my years with CCPS, I found that teachers were willing to help you, but only on their own terms. For instance, you could only get help from a teacher during downtime when school was in session or sometimes after school lets out and the teachers are still in the building. One change I would like to see made is students being able to email teachers during after school hours after the teachers have left the building for the day. This would make students more likely to succeed because they would be able to contact their teachers for help with homework instead of loosing points for not completing it before it's due.
I'd like to see more diversity throughout the school districts. However, the academics and athletics are extraordinary. Each school provides a great learning environment with student bodies consisting of students and teachers who care about the success and learning of others.
Good education, decent opportunities, mostly great teachers. Lack of diversity. Sports teams and club activities are a great thing to participate in, and most of them are very good. The school doesn't strike me as a very tight knit group, there are definitely groups who believe they are above others. The school itself is old and facilities need to be updated.
The school system is willing to add classes which makes it good for those who would like to take more challenging courses.
The teachers and staff at the Carroll County Public Schools I have visited have been very kind and helpful, most respectful, and certainly exceeding expectations. The Carroll County Career and Technology Center is also a prized accomplishment from an outside perspective at the very least. The students seem to be very well educated as well as disciplined.
As a student of Carroll County Public Schools, I enjoy coming to school and I believe there is a variety of activities and clubs for everyone from all backgrounds and interests. Being a student of color, I have appreciated the effort the school system has implemented to include all their students in a circumstance where they could easily feel out of place. I believe if Carroll County Public Schools continues to work towards keeping up with what they have already done, the school system would be a stellar community that would make parents feel comfortable raising their kids in.
This district is very good. I feel ready for college. I know what I want to do with my life and I am excited to go through with it.
The small class size and engaged focus on student acquisition of knowledge and success in this environment makes Carroll Community a great place for students to get a high quality education for affordable, non-back-breaking prices. There are few places where its apparent that for a cheeper price, you can get a deeper, more personalized education
The schools that I have attended in Carroll County Maryland are amazing. They have provided an excellent education with a great focus on community and extracurricular activities. I have attended Freedom Elementary, Oklahoma Middle School and Liberty High School all in Eldersburg, MD. The career and college readiness provided through Liberty and the support from my counselor Ms. Hewitt are beyond compare. I have been extremely fortunate.
