Carmichaels Area School District Reviews
Overall, Carmichaels is an average school. Some classes are quiet easy with no homework, while most are difficult with much homework involved. The teachers base most of the work off of memorization and not actual knowledge and understanding. Occasionally, teachers choose not to answer the students' question(s). Then, they are baffled as to why that question was missed on a test or graded assignment. Our grading scale is also different from most schools. Instead of an 'A' being 90-100, like most schools, ours is 93-100 (and so on for the rest of the grading scale.) This makes it harder to achieve a 4.0 average.
I attended this school, work in the elementary center, and have 3 sons that attend as well. I am very proud to call this place home and also take great pride in what I am able to accomplish with my students. Teaching them is just a small part of what we do here as teachers. We make sure they are safe, they are fed, and that their emotional well being is in a good place. We get a bad reputation from a small amount of parents that would rather blast us on Facebook then help them study and reinforce what we teach them, but some things are out of our control.
The Carmichaels Area School District has been where I have learned and prospered. It is a small school located in Greene County, Pennsylvania. It has all the quirks and personality that are specific to every rural area school. It provides a good learning atmosphere where you can become close to any of the staff or administration with ease. Every teacher in Carmichaels wants me as a student to succeed. I find the feeling of the aid you can get toward college, from CAHS is what has propelled me to become the prepared student that I am today. Even though Carmichaels has the limitations of a small school, it still has all the character and love that allows students to do well. It may not be the largest or the best school, but it is the one that I can call mine.
