Carle Place Union Free School District Reviews
My experience at Carle Place High School was very involved; I participated in multiple clubs, varsity athletic teams, and took multiple college-level academic courses. Because of the school size, I was able to develop personal connections and relationships with my teacher so that I could better succeed and become better prepared for college and my future. The student environment, though not diverse, was definitely a community rather than simply a student body. My experience at Carle Place High School was better than I could have imagined.
My three Daughters went to Carle Place School District. I am very satisfied with over all performance. Eldest daughter went to Brooklyn College to study Psychology, 2nd daughter is going to University of Pennsylvania to study biology (Pre-Med track) and 3rd daughter is going to 11th grade. Teachers are very helpful.
Carle Place is weak in all areas. Where is the 30,000 plus per student going? There is limited to none iPad/ chrome book carts available for all grade levels. Teachers and school have little to no communication with parents. Newsletters, use of teacher apps such as class dojo or Remind are not used. Information is constantly being ask on the moms and dads website of information that should have been supplied by school. Academics are antiquated. Scores are pathetic!!! 50% are not passing reading. The town likes to blame opt outs but 50% that took it failed!!! Support services are limited. Parents are not welcomed into school or their suggestions or concerns. This district needs to stop saying it’s excellent and actually do something! Safety in this. Lim ate is horrendous! On Election Day I walked in to the high school without one person stopping me with students in session.
