I moved to Carl Junction as a Freshman. Within my 4 years at Carl. I was involved in Student Government, FBLA, NHS, SNHS and multiple athletic teams. This community is so involved. These teachers are so invested in the well being of their students to be successful and good human beings. I left Carl Junction with a high school diploma and enough college credits to go to college as a Sophomore. Carl Junction was go to me. I’m thankful for the head start they gave me!
I've attended CJHS for my entire k-12 education. The staff was better in prior years, but with times changing and education standards, many are leaving. I really enjoy certain teachers that are resigning and retiring, so I am glad I am also graduating. The classrooms have been maintained, though there is some departments that should have more space. Such as our Video Productions, Graphic Designs, PTLW and Ag Departments. Many of these departments also get hand-me-downs for the students to access. If they are new, it is most likely donated by supporters or purchased by the class from projects they have completed. Academics is really pushed here. Though, unfortunately, many of the students either are doing very well or they are failing out. There isn't much of a system to help those who are riding the middle line.
I have absolutely loved this school system! Every single staff member cares for your education and pushes for your success. The only reason Carl Junction isn't liked by some student is because those students don't care about their own education and aren't fond of discipline. Out of my own personal experience, the only idea to make Carl Junction better would be to make the student parking lot bigger! Other than that, I would highly recommend Carl Junction for high school students in the Joplin, MO area.
