Canton City School District Reviews
The best way to describe my experience with the Canton City School District is average. It was not the highlight of my life, however it did get me to where I am today so for that I am thankful. I do believe that if I had better teachers, counselors and mentors accessible that I would've been able to prepare myself better for college. I could've been able to think about graduate programs, what undergrad degree works best for my long-term goals. Canton City School District needs to go in depth with their students about undergrad, graduate programs, etc. I am now a Junior in undergrad trying to figure it all out, it's never too late but the advising at a younger age would've been amazing.
The one thing I really liked about Canton City School District is the fact that teachers were always very supportive. They were always ready to listen to students issues and give out advice.Overall, they were there to teach students and give emotional support. I did not like how administration never listened to teachers and ignored their views on how to make the school better. I did not like how most people in administration have never taught in a classroom and did not understand what the environment of a classroom was like.
I feel that my school district is one that is about money, it does not focus on the necessity of the students, and it does not try to build relationships with the community. I will say that my district is known eminently in football and basketball, but unfortunately more money is put into those sports rather than academics and it is unbalanced. However, I do think that the districts Early College Program and Career Tech Programs are astounding.
