I feel that Canfield Local School District is a decent school district where majority of the teachers care about the students. There are many opportunities for students in the community within the school system, if they are willing to take advantage of the opportunities given them.

Students have to be willing to get involved with their school and parents have to let them.

Things that can be changed is the current school board administration. There have been issues within the school district that have been pushed under the rug like bullying an inappropriate behavior by school board members and teachers.

Our school system does not follow the rules as set forth in the school guidelines for the children. If we expect our children to behave in a certain way, shouldn't our school board members and teachers behave in the same manner or pay the consequences.

It seems that those who have money in the district can have their way paid for if they have a child who gets into trouble.

I loved the school as far as teachers and classmates but was not satisfied with the administration. When students wanted to organize a walkout to honor victims of the Parkland, Florida school shooting, administration threatened detention for any student that went outside of the building during this time. They also had dress codes that were overly strict such as no tears in pants and no shorts for males. Guidance counselors did far more for scheduling than for helping with planning for after graduation.
There are some excellent teachers in the Canfield High School, but most are just average. The elitist attitude of the community also is reflected in the school. So if you are wealthy and/or well-connected, your child will be treated differently (better) than just the average student.
