I attended private school for kindergarten and 1st grade, and have been homeschooled thus far. Being homeschooled allows my schedule to be flexible and also lets me do things most kids in school wouldn't get to do, like going to the movies with my family during school hours or working on my gymnastics skills. My mother is my teacher which is great because she understands me very well. Having my own schedule allows me to work on my time management and organization skills which will help me throughout life. One of my favorite things about being homeschooled is that I get to eat whenever I want and take breaks when needed. Plus being home instead of being in a building for eight hours is pretty amazing.
Caddo does not place an emphasis on students. There seems to be more concern and money spent on travel for upper level administrators. This includes a car provided to directors and above ( gas, insurance) to travel to and from work and to schools. Thousands of dollars are spent on trips every year. Most of student learning is done on the computer. Teachers are not teaching and do not think poor grades reflect on poor teaching.Schools are not very clean.
I loved being a student in the Caddo Parish Public Schools system! I've attended them most of my life! My most precious memories were made attending CE Byrd High School! Our teachers were so caring and taught us extremely well! I feel prepared for university! I also made many great friends in Caddo Parish Public Schools! I didn't feel like I was just another number! I also enjoying being in the Talented Arts Program for Music! I had the best teacher ever! The academics were up to par! At my particular school, there were so many ways to get involved and enjoy student life! I think that everything varies from school to school, but my experience being a Caddo Parish Public Schools student was a good one! Of course, things were not perfect, but I am the type of person that just wants to make the best out of my personal experiences! I hope that others can share the same experience that I had!
