Overall I would say that the school district definitely has some features that make it admirable. Like the fact that they have such a wide range of different classes for the more advanced students. It also has a wide range of opportunities extracurricular wise. I have also found many of the teachers to the amazing people who truly want to see you succeed. I personally just don’t like the atmosphere of the high school but I think that it has less to do with the faculty and setting but more to do with the students. I also really enjoy the setting, being near nature in a way is really refreshing sometimes. I just wish there was more than one entrance to the school because getting in and out of the student parking lot is a real pain.
Great school, accepting of gender, sexuality, race etc. Most teachers are very nice and personable. They give you the resources you need to succeed and are also affordable. Administration is approachable and helpful. Counselors are easy to get in touch with and do their best to help you. The campus is kept clean and there are healthy options for snacks on campus as well as a very nice book store. The campus appears to be, and feels safe. The location is very central and you are close to a lot of restaurants and food stops. Cabrillo also offers a nice, very affordable gym to help keep their students healthy and in shape.
I have spent the majority of my academic career in the Cabrillo Unified School District and it was absolutely wonderful. The teachers in the district especially those at Half Moon Bay High School have had a great impact on me. Mr. Stagg, Mr. Carey and Mrs. Treanor specifically have inspired me to be the best possible student I can be. I am now in the middle of my first year of college and feel as if I have been sufficiently prepare for it by the schools. There is also a great sense of school spirit surrounding the school athletics especially. What is even more impressive is how the school provide just as much support and enthusiasm to the music and art department as they to the athletics.
