I went to another high school in Amarillo half my freshman year and absolutely despised it. I was bullied, both physically and mentally, the teachers and administrators refused to help me, and I felt like just a number out of all the students there. At Christmas I transferred to Bushland and immediately found my home. I was welcome in, asked to join clubs and groups, everyone knew my name, and I felt involved. Bushland showed up when I needed it most and now I can not imagine graduating from any other school.

I like how Bushland has a friendly environment and does a good job at involving students. The administration do a good job, and the overall feeling of the school is very nice. Everything pretty much runs smoothly. The only thing that could maybe be worked on was the ability to do more academics, college preparation, and employing teachers who are more suited to the job.
The school promotes college readiness, and in stages, implemented AP and dual credit courses. They now offer the opportunity to graduate with an associates degree as well as a high school diploma.
