I first moved to Buford City Schools in 6th grade, but the overly friendly environment emphasized by students and staff made my middle school and high school experiences very nice. The school system has a culture of encouraging not only strong academic potential, but also growth in athletics and the arts. Being at Buford has allowed me to further my potential and achieve so much more than i could possibly achieve at any other school!
Overall it's a pretty good school. My teachers so far have all been capable, but I've heard other students complain about their teachers not doing their jobs very well or being harsh with the students. I'd like to have the bag-carrying policies and dress code relaxed a bit, but they've recently allowed clear plastic backpacks and totes to be used, so it's looking up. Still wish they allowed patterned clothing, but it's fine.
My experience in Buford City Schools was AWESOME! I enjoyed everything, The classes, the activities they had. I was born in Georgia, but when I was still a baby, my parents took me to Honduras, then I came back to Georgia when I was 14 years old. I started going to Buford Middle school, I was in ESOL learning english. The teachers were super nice, I made a lot of friends even though I didn't speak good english. I passed all of my classes, my teachers and classmates helped me a lot if I didn't understand something. There's a rule that you cannot use cellphones at all, even though some students didn't like it, I did, considering that you actually learn and not getting distracted at all.
Buford was Fascinating! It was a great experience, you just have a good experience. Buford is more than a school, it is my second home, where I can be myself without getting judge/discriminated. I love ALL the staff members, they are inspiring , engaging, passionate and they are just AMAZING!
