My experience at BHS has been unforgettable. I entered as a freshman and immediately became involved in the sport and clubs they offered. The school offers several ways for students to follow their passions including student-run clubs, internships, and service opportunities. The school also makes sure students grow outside of the classroom through international trips and educational trips. The teachers are incredibly supportive and make it their priority to help students reach their full potential. Anytime I need help on anything my teachers are always willing to help. BHS is a great place and I could not imagine high school anywhere else!

Brookings Highs' culture is exactly what you'd expect from a small town in SD. Differences are greeted with scorn, and misjudgment. The faculty look out for the interests of their elitist students who come from families with connections, and money. While other students, from lower income families struggle, and suffer to compete. Although, many teachers and administration personal believe that their choices and actions are for the good of all students, they sadly have missed the mark, and have left irreversible marks on the minds of young impressionable students. Students who were trying to make good of the situations, and environments in which they came. Hopes of someone to help them better understand the materials given, and learning differences of varies students. The truth of one former student is the truth of another. Reform and up-to-date training for educators and faculty is past due in Brookings, SD.
Brookings High School has a ton of options for students who would like to become more active in the school. There are many programs, sports, clubs, and arts to join in all year. Brookings High school is a great place for students to find a comfortable group of friends and to feel supported by the staff. Because there are so many different options for sports, clubs, and arts, it is not hard to find a group with at least one of your interests. The social climate in the school is generally quite friendly and it isn't too hard to feel welcome and safe with the students and faculty. Our counselors do a great job of supporting and preparing students for academic and social growth inside and outside of the school. I personally feel like my counselors gave me just enough tools and assistance to provide me with the confidence to graduate and move on to my next chapter in life.
