I've had a great experience. The teachers are constantly challenging me and encouraging. They are very understanding and helpful. One issue, that has gotten better, is communication. Sometimes we feel not informed about what is going on. At one point this year we had a half day because the power went out. People still went to school, but once there none of the teachers took attendance, people just started leaving, the busses did not get there for like a couple of hours, now we have to make up that day. Also, we have a budget cut. Now we are going back to 5 classes a day, getting rid of block scheduling. Teachers/classes are being cut, so we have fewer options and larger class sizes. Most people have to rearrange their four-year plan. For instance, I can't take an engineering class, I can't take APUSH, so I'm going to take the history classes out of order. I do not believe this will impede performance/prep, but it brings the school down from excellent/very good to average.

The high school needs to be upgraded asap. There is a lack of working bathrooms, decent locker rooms and the teachers lounges are crappy. No bonuses should be given out to admin if the kids don't have enough working toilets/sinks! AP teachers should be screened better for their ability to teach AP classes.
I started in this district as a freshman in high school. It was very difficult to make friends, no one is welcoming, considering everyone here grew up together and do not like when someone new joins their friend group. The teachers here are friendly and seem to care about their students and want us to succeed.
