This school offers many different resources that tailored for preparing students for life after high school. They offer programs that are similiar to trade school programs and students can graduate with a certificate in a specialized skill and join the workforce immediately after graduating. The teachers are there for the students and it really shows that they care about the students success. Out of my 3 and a half years being a student in Brawley Union High School, I experience the things I never thought I would have done when attending this school. Academically this school isn't the best in the Imperial Valley. However the most of the sports in this high school are very competitive in their divisions, such as Wrestling. I played for their tennis team and it was the greatest experience I had at that high school. For diversity, the majority of the students are Hispanics having over 90% in the school. I'm one of the very few students that are Asian, I was able to learn Spanish easily there.I got along with most of my teachers during my high school. This school provide AP College classes, To AP Calculus to AP Biology and so on. Many of the students here are English learners, and have a sort of financial problem in their family.
I am a senior at Brawley Union High School. What I like about BUHS is the school spirit that everyone has at being a wildcat, especially at games. The most memorable moments will be from High School Madness and the Friday night lights football games. Brawley also offers a great diversity of clubs and I am apart of a few. Teachers and security are great at keep students in check out but I believe that the district can do a little more to further improve academics instead of focusing more on athletics. Brawley is recognized for having multiple outstanding sport programs, as well. Yet, at the end of the day I believe that faculty should attempt to encourage students to participate more in school activities, which will help aquire a more connected student body.
