First, I have been in Boston Public Schools since kindergarten, at the George H Conley. Even still now, I love that school! It is one of the best elementary schools in Boston. The teachers and faculty were great. I also went to the Bates and BLA; both great schools. The Bates was a very friendly school that cares about all the students and the parents were actively involved. The Advanced 4th and 5th-grade class prepared me for the ISEE. The exam schools are all top-tier and prepare the students well for college. Aside from those schools, the other BPS schools could be better in terms of college prep and allocating resources fairly and efficiently. However, BPS has pretty well running system.

There seems to be an intentional miseducation for many children. With a whole year loss to unchecked behavioral issues and untaught information. It seems they begin to "teach" around MCAS time, because what's important to these schools are how well they've done on their MCAS results. I would like to see the focus taken off of MCAS and for the students to be given an education that will propel them to success. I would also hope that the BPS school system utilize a system that is effective in managing mentle health and behavioral issues of certain students so that the class doesn't suffer the loss of an uncontrolled class room.
My experience with Boston Public Schools has been great. Throughout elementary school, middle school and high school, I have received the education and learning material that I needed for state exams. Most teachers are good but there can be a few that are condescending or not very friendly to students. The diversity is great, in all the schools I have been to, there is a sea of different people. Boston Public Schools generally cares for the education of their students. but I feel they could be improved with more funding. In the schools I have been to, facilities were often broken down or outdated.
