Boonton High School is what you make of it. There are a number of opportunities for students that are waiting to be taken advantage of. However, the administration was not very good at encouraging the students to do so. The administration had a number of policies that discouraged learning for the sake of learning, and instead forced teachers to teach for standardized testing - this understandable in a sense because that is where the state funding is determined from. Yet there is a disconnect between the students and the administration that needs to be bridged by understanding on both sides, not by stricter rules and blatant disrespect.

The town of Boonton, its school district, and the staff is extremely motivating, compelling, and caring. Each course throughout my experience at Boonton High School came with extra help time slots and "one on one" meetings with the teacher. Having spent six years at Boonton high school, with the 7th and 8th grade in the same building, BHS became my second home. An aspect of this high school that I am extremely grateful for is the fact that its such a small school. The graduating class of 2016 with 142 students became my best friends and my second family. Knowing each student and their families made us, students feel so much more comfortable coming to school each and every day.
Boonton Town School District, despite its flaws, has provided me with the education that I will need for the future that lies ahead of me.
