Boone Community School District Reviews
I have worked at Boone schools for four years now. This school is one of the best I've had the privilege of being a part of. The community is welcoming and the teaching staff are so dedicated to their clientele. The administration supports creativity and pushing the boundaries for creative educational experiences for all students. The school actively supports all levels of learners in all careers and interests and supports my passions as well. There are numerous opportunities for leadership and growth in this awesome district. The superintendent, and principals are forward thinkers and highly knowledgeable. I love working here! Come to Boone if you want a family atmosphere with teachers who will care for your children like they are their own and an exciting and well-rounded educational experience that will support kids whether they choose farming, psychology, or neurosurgery.
As my boys have gone through the elementary schools and one in the middle school, I love how much the teachers care about them. We have had excellent communication with all of our sons' teachers over the years, and have really seen in improvement in our oldest son. On the other hand, our other son has been continually challenged by his teachers, even as a high performing student. Also, the number of activities students can join at the middle school is much higher than any of the smaller districts around us. I love that my kids can have so many opportunities to get involved, and not have to attend a school the size of Ames.
I'd say Boone is average in almost all aspects; Boone never really excels in one area, but tries to maintain a bleak facade of exceptional achievement in all areas. Nonetheless, there are great aspects, great teachers, and great activities, but nothing truly noteworthy. As a graduating senior I've seen our transition from run-down school to overly-glorified new additions that seem as a waste if we can't fill it with what students truly want and need. Although, the principal tries he still comes short of what an exceptional education environment truly means.
