I liked the overwhelming amount of good, kind, hard-working teachers who always tried to help out their students. The majority of teachers and staff always seemed to care about their students. However, there is hardly any money put into the Arts and it all goes into athletics. Another issue that needs to be changes has to be the safety protocols, we only practice them once a year and most of the time the teachers didn't even know what to do. Some of them didn't even have improvised weapons and told us in the case of a break-in they will need students to help them fight. which is not safe. The food wasn't great, but there were good opportunities and communities.
I would like to see a change in some teachers, some teachers have not shown as much care as others. Also, a change in some of students actions as well.
Great teachers, challenging classes, and a lot of school spirit. Have liked schools from elementary through High School.
The Boise Independent School District has always advocated for me and my well-being. I have been a part of the Boise school district since kindergarten (13 years!) and I have been so happy at all of my schools. My teachers care about my mental health as well as my academic growth, and they always answer my questions as best as they can. I have attended three different schools within the Boise school district boundaries and I have enjoyed them all so much for different reasons. I will carry the memories I made there through my whole life. I am even still friends with people I met at those schools!
The teachers in the Boise school district are very supportive and overall care about you as a person. Whenever you need help with schoolwork or personal trials they have been there to help.
I have had wonderful teachers who are truly passionate about making a difference in their student's lives. They go above and beyond to ensure the class environment is safe, welcoming, and engaging.
Boise High School has been a wonderful part of my life. While there is the occasional bad apple most teachers are fun and easy to talk to. They take an active role in students lives and do everything in their power to help kids succeed. There are a wide variety of interesting classes covering all subjects for students that want to learn all they can before heading off to college. I’m so grateful that I had a chance to be apart of such a great school.
During the COVID pandemic, the teachers, councilors and administrators listened to my concerns, supported my daughter when she needed it most, and worked tirelessly to provide an excellent high school education.
I love how all of the faculty and staff are so involved in the lives of their students. They make it a point to let the students get to know them personally. The school that I go to has a lot of variety in their classes, which challenge me and inspire me to learn more.
I have been a student in the Boise school district since seventh grade. The teachers always cared about the education for their students, and always wanted the best for each and every student. I created some of the best teacher-student relationships my first two years of being apart of the Boise school district. The teachers really care about everyones future and push their students to be the best versions of myself. My first day of seventh grade and my first day being apart of BSD I was lost and could not find my way around, with the friendly and supportive staff, they made my first day a little less scary and confusing. I would recommend to any parent to enroll their kids in BSD because they have such diverse schools, wonderful teachers and staff, and great clubs and extra curricular activities. My junior year of school I was apart of the Blood Drive, and it was such a great experience to help people all over the world receive blood. BSD is so active with their students learning.
I really like my school system but the problems are in the foundation and some of the management issues. It is overall a very good school district but it is not without its faults.
Overall, I have had an excellent experience with the district. I moved here from Arizona a little over a year ago and immediately felt welcomed. The transition was extremely easy thanks to the teachers and students. As far as the learning experience goes, my teachers always make it a priority to make sure I understand the material and are always there to help.
As a student that has moved all over the country during their academic career, I have had my share of both positive and negitive school experiences. The Boise school district has excellent staff and acadmics. The students are amazing and so supportive of each other. There is however limited diversity among students. I would also not recomend the cafeteria food.
I started out at Mountain View Elementary, went on to Fairmont Junior high, and just graduated from Capital High School. All three schools are in the Boise Independent School District. My experiences at all three have connected me with incredible classmates, peers and dedicated teachers, and have given me many fond memories which have shaped me into who I am today and that I'll remember for the rest of my life. Of course, there are bad days, and unfortunate circumstances that fall across our paths, but in the case of my schools, I'd say that my overall experience with the Boise Independent School District was enjoyable, educational, and exactly what I needed in my life. I am incredibly grateful for all those that made my education what it was.
Overall Boise High is good community and supportive staff! I went there and had a really good time and made a lot of friends. Also the teachers were always there to help whenever I was slow to grasp a topic.
My time at BSD was filled with quite a bit of opportunity. I had a handful of passionate and great teachers, as well as an equal amount of unmotivated ones. AP classes definitely prepared me for college.
The BSD had always made me feel listened to and appreciated. Even for a large district I have gotten so much personal interaction and opportunities. I owe the BSD so much.
