Overall, my experience with the Boise Independent School District has been pretty good! The best part has been the supportive teachers and the opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities. However, I think it would be great to see more resources for mental health and support for students going through tough times.
I've had the privilege of being part of many different schools within the Boise Schools district. One common trend each school has is the power to make you feel instantly part of their family. While each faculty and student body member is different in their own right, strangely the culture brings us together unlike any district in the country. Each school is amazing at breaking the boundaries of personal life, and school life, to make each school day feel enjoyable. The schools don't feel like an institution, they feel like a community. The fact that each school succeeds at this, goes to show that the district does what's responsible. The role models the district employs as teachers do an incredible job at teaching, not just focusing on the data. There's an emphasis on our need to learn values in order to be good, caring, and productive members of society. The Boise Independent School district, and all the schools under that umbrella, are the best in the world at creating these people.
I graduated from Timberline High school in 2020. While I was there, I always felt welcomed and accepted by staff and student alike. This is an amazing school district. I actually moved school districts my senior year, but was allowed to finish out my high school experience at Timberline. I have never had trouble interacting with staff or faculty at any of the Boise Independent school district schools. I felt very prepared for when I started college the following fall. One thing I would change is that some of the facilities are not in the best of condition and sometimes schools are hard to navigate.
