I have had the privilege to attend various schools within the Blue Valley School District, and I am eager to discuss my experiences, and what I appreciated throughout my schooling experience here. All of the high schools present within the district do an amazing job at offering a variety of course options, and a diverse array of teachers with different amounts of experience. I also appreciated the amount of academic freedom that you have as well. You are able to choose specific courses you want to include within your course plan, and this really makes the learning experience here unique and personalized. In terms of areas of improvement, the district holistically needs to do a better job at addressing students' concerns and experiences and better acknowledging them. A lot of minority students within the district have experienced adversities in their schooling experience as a result of their race, sexuality, gender, religion, et cetera, and these should be better addressed.
I think that the Blue Valley Unified School District located in Overland Park, Kansas is a fantastic school district. It gathers people that come from all different communities and welcomes them with open arms as they embark on a new adventure. The academics and sports are amazing truly. Some of the best in Kansas! I attend Blue Valley North which is known to be the best school in Kansas. I hope this opens your eyes to see why Blue Valley is such a good district.
I have been a Blue Valley School District student from kindergarten-12th grade. Overall I have loved being a part of the school district, and feel like I have been greatly educated and well prepared for my academic journey ahead of me. The many resources available to me and technology I have been provided with in the past years has greatly helped me succeed academically. I do wish that our high school counsellors had better provided me with college information, especially scholarships. I have been the only person in figuring out college choices and applications, as well as scholarships. I feel like I have missed out on a lot of scholarship opportunities because I was never presented with any information about them and that makes me feel overwhelmed. I also wish Blue Valley was less focused on appearing woke and more focused on better improving the well being of their students, but overall is a good school district.
