The staff is friendly and wonderful (for the most part). Beware, there are certain staff members that will ruin your life if they're given the chance. While attending, I was an NHS applicant, but after a misunderstanding, a member of the staff started gossiping about me and kept me from being inducted into National Honor Society. If you ignore that though, the teachers are for the most part amazing and will help you in any way you need! The biggest problem is that Hartford City is a town that is dying. No one cares about it anymore, so there is very little parent involvement. If you can, I would suggest finding a different nearby school, such as West-Del, Delta, or Monroe Central. It will save you a LOT of headaches.
Blackford is your average small rural-area school. It doesn't have much money, but the money they have only goes towards sports. There aren't many opportunities available to students, and the administration is very unfriendly and doesn't value the opinions of students. I wish I had gone to a different school, but I'm lucky that it wasn't worse.
I have gone to school in Blackford County my whole life. I have had great time being apart of this school system. The sports teams and clubs I have been involved in have been a great experience. I have also had a good academic career. Because it is such a small school system in rural Indiana there is not a lot of diversity.
