I have been in the same school district for all of my schooling career. It has provided me with opportunities to grow as a person while preparing me for life beyond school. A big part of my school district that helped me was the various clubs, classes, and organizations offered. I was able to fine tune my schooling career based on my interests. They also offered great community service opportunities which allowed students to get a look at different organizations throughout our community and how they work. Although there are many great things about my school district, one thing I would change would be the block scheduling. With block scheduling, some students could end up not having a subject, like math, for a whole year. Math is a big portion of standardized tests, such as the SAT. Without having math, students would have to take extra time to review math on their own while having 4 other classes. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my 12 years here in this school environment.

Bethlehem Area School District has taught me all my life from k-12. I love the community around it and enjoyed many years. Although some teachers are a struggle, there are a lot of great ones. The staff and counselors have supported me through all the changes and have made my school experience one of a kind! The only negative i would have to come up with would be the safety in the high schools. There have been a lot of fights and incidents although over the years they have been doing very good at controlling it all.
The things I enjoy most about Bethlehem Area School District is that the schools can be rivals during games but can instantly turn and work together. For example, football game rivalry and BASD mini-thon to raise money for children with pediatric cancer. I can say, the academics in BASD are great. Most teachers are willing to involve themselves with their students and are willing to help as much as possible. The most important change I would like to see are in the facilities. Some facilities are run-down and outdated. I would also like to see a change in the food. The food served is either unhealthy or not edible. An alternative would be natural foods like fruits and veggies, or anything that provides proper nutrition. Lastly, I would like to see an increase in diversity. It would love to see more international exchange students throughout Bethlehem Area School District. Not only do they increase diversity, they educate students about other customs and cultures.
