Its small and close knit which makes for an amazing high school experience. The food on the other hand was not the best but I cannot blame the school or staff for the lack of funding available. The teachers and other staff members were nothing but supportive and assistive to furthering my education. Im so thankful to have grown up there.
Ben Bolt High School is a really good school for sports. The teachers are really great for the most part. They are more than willing to help students who are falling behind. Some even allow students to go to their class during lunch for tutoring. However, there are significantly less opportunities for students to further their education because the school requires all students to have a full schedule. They cannot leave to take college classes at the college. They have to stay at the high school all day and fill their schedule with electives. It makes it more difficult for students to take college credits, so they end up having to spend more money on college once they graduate.
I enjoyed the small school environment with the some big school opportunities. I was able to be active in many clubs and UIL competitions in band, mariachi, tennis, NHS, Spanish club, Jr/Sr club, UIL Drama club, and my most individual accomplishment was as a multiple state champion in track, and state finalist in Cross Country.
