BISD is overall a good district. The elementary schools overall have very caring teachers, the middle schools are decent. The high school could be better, but it’s not bad. My biggest complaint is the long, often overwhelming school hours. We spend about 8 hours at school, get out at 4:25pm, then those who do sports or need tutoring have to stay hours after, sometimes until dark!

Belton is a very friendly and interactive school district. The teachers are great fro the most part and most of the students are great friends. The downside is that Belton is growing extremely fast with almost 700 students per grade level in high school. With this said, there is about 30 or more students per teacher leading to less one on one time and help. With more students the hallways become super packed and more fights and disrespect begin to start. Overall, Belton was great but as the population goes up, the learning goes down.
When I started school at Belton High School, I had transferred from a different school. My credits were not lining up and I would have to take freshman classes my sophomore year. The counselors tried their best to align my credits to their courses but simply couldn’t. As for the environment, Belton High School has an OK environment, lots of drugs involved with students and it is hard for the ones to want to focus to focus. Disciplinary action isn’t very big around this school either, I was in a accident where another student had hit the back of my car and the teacher and school resource officer had not done anything to find out who it was. The teachers are good, I’ve had great and bad teachers but you find that everywhere. Overall my experience there had been pretty average.
