I love Belle Plaine for how small of a community it is. I love that I get to know everybody and everybody knows me. It's very easy to be involved in all the different activities and community events. At Belle Plaine, I've gotten a lot of opportunities to be in leadership positions. I thoroughly enjoy our classes and teachers. The good thing about a smaller school is that you have a good chance at playing sports. On the other hand, something that I would change about Belle Plaine would be expanding its sports program to include wrestling and soccer. I have found out that a lot of kids would play those sports if they were available to them. Some people aren't great at basketball, but wrestling would be an excellent fit for them. Others may not be great at football or volleyball, but they could very well fit in on a soccer team. I believe that these programs would get more student and community involvement.
I enjoy the school and the people in it. The teachers are a major plus! As long as you have a parent that came from the district, or is very well known person in town then, you will be one of their favorites! But, with that being said its very noticeable what kind of advantages being a favorite has, then you realize that some students aren't quite "allowed" to succeed. Its quite sad actually, but I mean it happens everywhere!
Belle Plaine is a very small town. If something is said at school or rumors are spread, the whole town knows about it by the end of the day. The teachers are good, but sometimes the lessons make absolutely no sense to what we actually need to he learning. The teachers in Belle plaine tend to favorite some students and the ones they don't favorite get less help then the others. The lockers I believe could be a bit bigger or at least spread apart... Everyone's kinda separated into their own groups, anyone outside of the popular and athletic kids aren't really "worth anything". Kids with a bad reputation tend to get worse treatment by both the teachers and principal honestly.
