It’s a small-town school with big-school opportunities. Its performing arts groups are excellent, the teachers are all very personal, and there are many AP and dual-enrolled classes there. That being said, those classes may be advanced, but they’re not the most challenging. The one downfall of Belding that I’ve seen are there’s a very low academic bar. People are being held to the same standards whether they’re lucky to not have ISS for skipping class or their GPA is above 4. It gets a little boring because of that.
We have a great Superintendent in Belding. Mr. Noskey is very involved at all levels in the school district. He attends all sporting events, he greets students every morning at the high school as they arrive for school, and he greets them everyday after school as they leave to go home.
Mr. Ostrander is a great high school principal as well. He is very involved with everything at the high school. He is very easy to talk to and a lot of fun to be around. The academics in Belding are top notch, and a good reason why Belding Area School District is one of the best in the state of Michigan.
We are very blessed to have to have beautiful athletic facilities as well. Our athletic facilities are better than most college facilities.

It’s a great school with a great music program that saved me in ways no one knows! I found a teacher that cares about her students and has helped me to be the best I can be. My percussion instructor is more like family then friend. I love that my school has so many different groups/clubs, etc.
