Beekmantown Central School District Reviews
Beekmantown Central School has very nice faculty and staff. The school has upgraded to a turf field and has added tennis courts. The lunches are good and there is a wide range of options. There are also healthy meals like parfaits, protein packs , and nutritious soups. Breakfast and lunch are free to all students. The school also has a cafe which serves drinks like cocoa and coffee, and freshly made cookies. Additionally, there is a wide variety of clubs and activities offered; many of which are for good causes. The environmental club for example strives to reduce the schools carbon footprint by installing LED lights and implementing the use of paper straws. The school also has a few agriculture based classes which grow vegetables for the schools meals and compost things like apple cores and napkins. Beekmantown's sports teams are some of the best, with the football, volleyball, and soccer teams having an exemplary reputation.
As a whole, this school is great. Both the main building and its second elementary school provide phenomenal means of connecting with teachers and administrators as well as students from other districts. The past couple of years alone have shown great improvement in student cooperation and interest as general aesthetic improves and greater opportunities arise for all to explore possible future careers. Our expansion into the technological and agricultural world has brought many students of varying backgrounds together in a way that is very unique to our district. The student counsel and representatives of the district take their time to listen to student concerns and those of the community in an attempt to create a safe and accepting environment for all who walk through its doors. One thing is for certain, everyone from the volunteer fire department to the Lego club take pride in what they do, and it shows.
Beekmantowm is the best of the best ! They were given a huge grant last year, and used it on getting chomebooks for most of the school to improve education. They had a whole period to make learning fun by letting the students pick the activity they want to do and learn about (ex: dancing, sketching, *extremely safe* wood burning, etc.) and they have a 45 minute extra period of doing that. But with an extra period comes waking up early. But, they give us free breakfast, free lunch, and a snack at the end of the day! And of course, we have the Beeksquad. Its a group of Middle School and Highschoolers Who want to learn to help people with electronics. They go to a 'boot camp' for a few months and then start working at the desk. Of course the middle schoolers ar en't left alone as their are multiple people on the job. Didn't charge your chromebook and its dead? No problem! We have charging lockers in three locations in the school.
