My rating on the beaumont independent school district overall isn’t negative but there are some negative and positive factors of going to school in this district. First, I don’t feel that I am properly being prepared for college, staff don’t inform sophomores about school opportunities and they don’t encourage us to start looking for schools. Secondly, I feel that the teachers are not qualified enough to be teaching us. On certain days teachers may or may not just sit down and not teach or might not even give any effort into education the kids but that’s not entirely there because kids in the Beaumont independent school district have a lot of behavioral problems and sometimes the staff don’t take much action into handeling situations like that.

Overall I like how we have teachers who truly care and have been with me the whole way through. I still have teachers from middle school and highschool that I’m really close with and made me the person I am today. I don’t think I could’ve made it without them and they brought out the best of their students. Though I wish some of the other teachers could be patient and understanding of the students as well. In my opinion, if we had more teachers with more compassion, we would have more successful students. Overall, I enjoyed my school experience
The Beaumont ISD is a very money hungry district. Administration often places the district’s financial need over the safety of students. They implement a “one size fits all” type of governing. Our two main high school campuses are very different and should not be ruled based off of what’s in black in white. It should be ruled based on student needs. Westbrook had policies that were perfectly fine, however once a new high school was created Westbrook was forced to fix things that weren’t broken.
