From Bastrop Independent School District

Bastrop ISD is a fast-growth school district serving over 12,000 students from the communities of Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Paige, Red Rock, Rockne, and vast rural areas of Bastrop County. We currently have 15 schools, including a top-ranked Early College High School, two comprehensive P-TECH high schools, plus three award-winning child development centers.

Two new elementary schools are planned to open in the fall of 2023 along with other significant improvements to all schools with the passage of a $184 million 2021 Bond Program.

As one of the largest districts geographically in the State of Texas, the Bastrop Independent School District is a proud public school system in the picturesque Lost Pines of Central Texas. On the banks of the beautiful Colorado River, we are conveniently located 30 miles east of Austin, 100 miles northeast of San Antonio, and 130 miles west of Houston.
