Barrington school district is awesome, but still clings to its sports side, in my opinion. It is a great school district for athletes, I just wish they would appreciate academic excellence just as much as they appreciate athletes. However, there are a lot of amazing academic programs. There are two language immersion programs (Spanish and Chinese) those attract families to the district, very solid extended programs (math, English, science, art) for children who tend to learn faster than their peers, many-many fantastic teachers at every school and extensive support programs for children who need help.
What I love the most about our school district is that how flexible it is. The administration listens to parents and students, they do try to accommodate different needs and "wants". They handled the pandemic situation much, much better than many sister school districts.
We moved to Barrington from another district because of schools, and would do it again in a heartbeat!

As a senior at Barrington High school, I have made some amazing friends and memories here and could not be more grateful. I have learned many amazing things and lessons that I will take with me onto my college life and everything after that. The connections I made with not only students like myself, but teachers is something I will never forget. I have never had such amazing teachers ever before and I’m so so thankful to be able to feel like some of them are friends more than teachers, it allows me to be myself and honestly devotes me even more because I don’t feel like I’m trying to be a good student, I feel like I’m trying to be the best version of myself when I’m learning from these specific teachers. Again, I couldn’t be more thankful for everything I’ve learned at this school and will 100% be back to visit my favorite teachers. I’m very proud of myself for all the growth I’ve achieved here at Barrington High School. I didn’t think I’d make it, here I am with three months left.
Barrington 220 was overall a good school. Obviously, there were issues but those could be found at any other high school as well. The majority of the teachers were kind and passionate about their jobs, my fellow classmates were helpful and provided entertainment throughout my day, and I was able to find some of my really close friends. I really liked how big of a role athletics played at Barrington because I feel it brought the school community together. I also enjoyed the effort that was put in to allow kids to branch out and take classes/join clubs that further their interests as growing people.
