I have attended Barbers Hill ISD since pre-k and I absolutely love it! They have a wonderful staff and great facilities. Throughout my school years I've been very involved due to the fact that they push kids to do activities and clubs they're interested in. I've been involved in band, robotics, art, asl club, spanish club, and I still have time to manage all my advanced classes! Barbers Hill ISD strives for excellence and success which I feel has carved me into who I am today. They also have one of the highest test scores and highest rate of attendance in the state!

Overall, I had a positive experience at Barbers Hill ISD. No school is perfect. However, by contrast to the district we moved from in Washington State, Barbers Hill ISD stood out academically. The level of district and community supported student excellence was very apparent from the first day I started in the 6th grade. Teachers and administrators take great pride in the students success and do a great job of coming along side students to help them reach their goals. The district has high expectations and accountability for both the students and staff. Barbers Hill ISD is a highly sought after district for families moving to area because of their standards for success. I do however wish they were more culturally diverse and would teach community as being more accepting of people of different strengths and backgrounds. This includes socioeconomic, physical, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Also I would like to more support for their Fine Arts program, including Orchestra.
BHISD is a great school for children and teens to attend if they want to receive excellence at its finest. The faculty here are great and care about the students' safety and education. Here, unlike other schools, there are rarely any fights and the school is always up to date with current events and is quick to act before a possible threat becomes a conflict. The school has many highly trained police officers that patrol the district to ensure the safety of the students. There are also several other safety measures in place to ensure the safety of students and faculty alike. For many years, the school has had many academic scholars, many students receive scholarships, and won UIL State championships many times. Another positive about the school is that the school has had bond elections for years and has had such a good foundation that they have never had to raise taxes for 15 years in a row. Although they do have a strict dress code, I think overall this school was great to attend.
