Bangor Public Schools are slightly above average academically across the board. There are numerous opportunities for students to take higher level classes starting in elementary school, and plenty of after school activities to get involved in as well. I would like the respect for the fine arts community, especially concerning funding, to increase. The high school's music and art programs are fantastic, but, particularly the music program, receive little to no funding. This needs to change. The level of respect from administration, particularly at the high school, to students also needs to increase.

There are a lot of opportunities that are given to those who go to Bangor public schools. They offer a lot of different classes, including quite a few that go towards college credits. There's something for everybody, and the teachers always take it one step further to prepare us for the future. The thing I would like to see change is how the administrations office handles serious problems.
I started my Senior year of high school last year as an immigrant and am happy to say that the school is more than welcoming and the student community is very tight-knit and driven. Teachers are committed to helping their students and generally quite knowledgable. The range of offered classes and extracurriculars is also impressive. I would however like to see more encouragement of sustainable practices and the building and surrounding area is a bit outdated and in need of renovation.
