Avalon is a great school with the small community feel, but small schools do not have all the programs bigger schools have. If you want to do a career program in high school, this is not the school for you. A noteworthy thing about Avalon is their willingness to better their kids. Their dual credit program even outshines Ennis because the school pays the fees and book money for their students. A student can walk out of Avalon with an associates degree paid for. The small town community makes people feel at home. You walk down the hallway and there is not one person you do not know. The teachers also get to know you on a more personal level since the student to teacher ratio is smaller.
Its the best small town school that has ever existed! The environment is very safe and once you are a student, teacher, or staff member, you will always be apart of a family that wont ever leave you.
It is an amazing environment and is helping many kids grow into great people. The school offers a dual credit program free of charge, as I will be graduating with my associates in May and have not paid a dime.
